The 2018 All-Ireland Aberdeen-Angus Championships were launched in spectacular style at the luxury resort hotel, Lough Rynn Castle over the weekend. The lavish country estate and gardens provided the perfect backdrop for the occasion with the official launch of this year’s championships being presided over by Government Minster for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys TD. Ms Humphreys told the dignitaries and delegates present that she was honoured to formally launch this year’s competition and also spoke about the strong farming tradition that is still very much evident in rural Ireland today. Ms Humphreys went on to wish the Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association well with the championships and added that she hoped to be present on show day to see some of the cattle in the flesh.

The pinnacle of the Irish showing season, this year’s All-Ireland Aberdeen-Angus Championships will take place at Mohill Show, Mohill, Co. Leitrim on Sunday, August 19th. The very best Aberdeen-Angus cattle from all four provinces of the country will compete for the biggest and most prestigious titles of the year with the attendance of several high profile show winners from the 2018 season already confirmed. There will also be two new commercial classes for this year’s finals; both kindly sponsored by Angus Beef Ireland, which should add an extra interest to proceedings on the day.

Long time sponsor, Univet, the leading veterinary and pharmaceutical company are once again acting as major sponsor for this year’s All-Ireland Championships. Each of the prize-winners in every class will receive complimentary Univet veterinary products, as well as a very lucrative cash prize. The Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association would like to thank Univet for their continued support and sponsorship and encourage members to visit the Univet stand and chat with their representatives at the showgrounds on the day.
